2:00 PM onwards | Check in

A Warm Welcome!

Come home to Kyagar, where you are welcomed with a warm smile by our staff. While you sip on your fresh seabuckthorn juice, allow our staff to take you through the various activities on offer. Our reception area serves as not just a place to check in, but also to learn the story of the region, and our place in it.

4:00 PM | Riverside high tea

A Taste of Ladakh by the Siachen River.

The awe inspiring surroundings of Kyagar call for meals al fresco at varied locations. Enjoy a picnic tea at our private riverside, sitting next to the mighty Siachen river.

We explore the Ladakhi snacks served on our high teas and picnics, which offer a unique way to experience the local culture of the region.

Khura, traditionally made for Ladakhi new year, along with homemade whole wheat cookies, are served alongside our in-house herbal teas. For the hotter months, we have a spiced sea buckthorn juice, or a refreshing and calming chamomile iced tea, all made using produce from the Kyagar farms. Soft and chewy sun dried apples, paired with roasted barley grains complete the high tea experience.

6:00 PM | Village Walk

A journey through time

As you walk through the village, guided by a member of the Kyagar team, you’ll learn about the local geology, history, and the significance of the Siachen side of the Nubra Valley. For many guests, this walk offers their first true orientation to the region, providing a deeper understanding of the land and its people

Our cycling tours are designed for those who wish to explore deeply, embracing the tranquillity and natural beauty of Nubra Valley. With high-quality mountain bikes, you’ll have the freedom to navigate hidden paths, immersing yourself in the quiet charm of rural Ladakh.

Sacred Lake and Soothing Springs

Post breakfast, drive to the holy Yarab Tso lake, that can only be accessed after a 20 minute walk up a small hillock from the main road. You can also visit the hot springs at Panamik, known to have medicinal and healing properties.

2:00 PM | farm to table picnic lunch

Taste the Earth, Savor the Moment

Join us for a perfect picnic on our farm at Pinchimik- a utopian farm with vibrant flowers, wild garlic chives, and a running glacial stream.
Relax under the shade of an old apricot tree, and indulge in a specially curated picnic lunch prepared with care by Kyagar’s talented chefs. Every picnic spread is thoughtfully designed, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy a delightful array of crisp salads, savoury dips, and perfectly grilled dishes that celebrate the flavours of Ladakh.

6:00 PM | Cultural Evening at a 400 Year Old Home

Step into the heart of Ladakh’s rich cultural Heritage

The Kangyokspa House, a 400-year-old heritage home has long served as a gathering place for the local community. This open pavilion, which once hosted everything from village meetings to wedding celebrations, now sets the stage for a timeless cultural experience.
Watch in awe as local dancers bring to life the ancient rhythms of Ladakh through traditional dance performances. Adorned in stunning, time-honoured attire, these women, keepers of our heritage, will revive the spirit of Ladakhi culture, performing dances that haven’t been showcased in years.
At Kangyokspa House, you’ll be transported back to the days of the Silk Route, where tradition and storytelling remain alive and well. Join us for a night of dance, food, and cultural immersion that connects you to the legacy of this land.

Day 3

10:00 AM | ENSA, CHARASA, MURGI day trip

A foray into the region’s historical past today.

Ahead of the famous hot springs at Panamik, lies the centuries-old Ensa monastery. The scenic road leading up to the monastery takes one past a number of white chortens and offers a spectacular view of the valley. A few minutes drive from here lies Murgi Tokpo where one can hike up jagged rocks to see a large number of petroglyphs dating back to the bronze age. The nearby village of Charasa is still largely bereft of tourists making it worth a visit. The ruins of a fort and the remains of a large palatial complex make it even more worthwhile.

5:00 pM | Sundowner at the Sand dunes

Where the Desert Meets the Sky

The Sumur sand dunes, just a ten minutes drive from Kyagar are the pristine and untouched cousins of the touristy dunes at Hunder. As the day draws to a close, the golden hues of the setting sun cast long shadows across the vast sand dunes, creating a breathtaking backdrop for an evening of relaxation and quiet wonder.
We offer a carefully curated selection of gourmet treats to complement the magical setting. Savour a bespoke menu that includes freshly prepared sandwiches, a vibrant cheese platter, refreshing summer rolls, juicy fruits, and drinks tailored to your preferences.
