THE RESORT

A Haven Between Mountains and Time

Kyagar stands where the Silk Route once flowed. Our facilities are shaped by the land, offering both comfort and connection: a place to pause, explore, and experience Nubra’s untamed beauty.

the location: A Valley Like No Other

NUBRA VALLEY

Located at the conjunction of

four zoogeographic zones of the world

Nubra is a haven for diverse avi-fauna.

Our Land Attracts a wide variety of Passage Migrants.

The sea buckthorn and rosehip bushes shelter an array of finches, warblers, serins, and redstarts.

Predatory hawks and eagles are often seen riding the air thermals. Apart from birds, the forest area next to the river adjoining the property is teeming with cape hare making it perhaps the most dense population of the Eurasian lynx. Grab a pair of binoculars and explore these areas with a local shepherd.

Clothing

The weather in Ladakh can vary to different extremes – we advise packing layers which can be added or removed as per the fluctuations in temperature. Usually, July and August are the warmest months, when you do not require woollens. In the other months, warm jackets, thermals and sweaters should be carried. A good sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are essential to protect you from the strong UV rays. We suggest comfortable walking shoes for everyday sightseeing.

ADDRESS AND DIRECTIONS

We are located next to the village of Sumur in Nubra valley, a drive of 4 hours north of Leh over the Khardung La. The closest commercial airport is in Leh, where you should ideally spend 48 hours acclimatizing before travelling any further.

Getting Here

Ladakh is accessible via the Leh- Manali highway or the Leh- Srinagar highway via cities like Manali, Jammu and Srinagar. Ladakh has a taxi union through which you can book your tour in Ladakh. You can find the Taxi Union rate list in their official website or get in touch with us for travel arrangements

Driving up? Just a heads-up—please ensure the vehicle is registered in your name. Rental or outstation taxis aren’t allowed as per Ladakh’s Taxi Union rules to ensure fair access and safe passage on Ladakh’s rugged roads. We want your journey to be smooth, so it’s best to plan accordingly!
